This French variety produces a round, purple fig that is red on the inside. The figs are larger than both the Negronne and Violette de Bordeaux varities. The Ronde de Bordeaux is a very sweet and fruity fig. I can taste sweet purple Concord like grape flavors. It can be syrupy. Ronde de Bordeaux has large leaves with long fingers and is a great addition to any fig collection. The Ronde de Bordeaux fig produces one crop starting mid-August. It grows great in containers and has produced a lot of figs for us. This variety is Pierre Baud's personal favorite
