Here we are on the train outside of Lisbon on our way back from Sintra. You can see them growing in fields as we pass by.

These are growing here in a more urban environment along with some other crops.

This fig tree is in the University of Lisbon Botanical Garden however it’s not part of the display. It is growing out of a crack in a retaining wall. This is very common as we saw fig trees growing out of cracks in walls and rocky hills sides very often.

This is a rather large fig tree growing out of a wall near Santa Apolónia, station about 30 feet in the air. We were on our way to the Museu Nacional do Azulejo (National Tile Museum). Portugal is know for it beautiful tile work. The museum has displays of centuries old tile. It also has a church with artifacts from many Saints; again centuries old.
